Michael Vitkin, M.D., completed a Family Practice Residency program at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Gadsden, Alabama (affiliated with University of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham) in 1981, and has devoted his practice full-time to the treatment of obesity since 1984. He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and the North American Society for the Study of Obesity.

Over the past 20 years Dr. Vitkin has cared for thousands of patients in the treatment of obesity. His goal is to provide an affordable and effective method of personal weight reduction to improve his patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
